I haven’t done much Riverside dining lately but a series of birthday and family occasions brought us to George’s Paragon Seafood Restaurant, located on Eagle St. Pier. Overlooking the beautiful Brisbane River and Storey Bridge for both lunch and dinner, it’s the perfect place for a family affair or a corporate outing.

The decor is modern-Greek – simple blue and white furnishings provide a traditional feel but without the over-kill. The atmosphere is fairly formal and the lighting is dimmed at night but not too romantic or intimate. Seating is also available outside on the balcony however, every table has a great view of the river and the bridge – after all, that’s why you choose riverside dining, right?

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. Everything is fresh and the quality is impressive. Despite being labelled a seafood restaurant, the menu is extensive, covering all types of meats, pasta, salads and more. Set meals are great value with an entree, main, dessert & coffee/tea. Everything is delicious, not too fancy, and well presented. Definitely leave room for dessert. Undecided between baclava, creme brûlée or a pav? You can’t go wrong – nothing is too sweet or overpowering and whatever you choose is guaranteed to be the perfect end to your meal.

The service is also fantastic and all the staff are very friendly, personable and incredibly attentive. Be prepared to be remembered – the waiters and waitresses have great memories and all seem to be up for a laugh with their guests. No matter how busy it is, time will be made for you – this restaurant really provides you with an all-round experience.

George’s Paragon is currently holding an amazing deal with 50% off lunch / dinner seated before 1830. Even without the deal, this restaurant is great value for money so take advantage of this special opportunity quick smart!
